This year’s Pantone color of the year is Radiant Orchid. Pantone describes the color as: “Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”
I love that description and I feel they have described the color and tone perfectly. I can actually feel it when I look at the color. Purple can be a difficult color to add to your decor, but, if you add it with accents, one large accent or a few large accents, it can really pop and not overwhelm your room. In some cases it’s appropriate to let the color consume the room – such as a little girl’s room with a princess theme. In other cases just a touch or an accent wall makes the statement to convey the feeling you may be looking for. Here are some of my favorite uses for Radiant Orchid.
